About us

Off The Beaten Track is a young independent game development studio based in Kiel, Germany. Our games tend to be narrative and challenge the norm of what games are and can be. While we have mostly developed Point and Click adventures in the past, our next game will explore the emotional impact of a sudden health crisis on a young family. We are looking for collaborators who can bring this sensitive and emotional topic into the interactive medium and make the player feel strong and genuine emotions.

We are deeply rooted in the development scene in Schleswig-Holstein and Germany and co-organize numerous gamejams, developer meetups and act as local representatives for the German games association game – Verband der Deutschen Games-Branche in Schleswig-Holstein.

We are currently acquiring funding for the game. With the state of Germany introducing a new funding program in June 2019, things are looking bright. Applicants ready to help with the funding process will be preferred.

About you

You’ll be working in a small team which means you’ll have a lot of responsibilities in shaping and developing the game. You’ll have the chance to broaden your skillset by taking on different responsibilities throughout development.

You are passionate for video games and have a strong artistic background. You’re a team player, self-organized and able to communicate well. We don’t require you to have a University degree – all we need is a great, passionate and flexible artist.

Since the team is very small, you’ll be in charge of all sorts of art – 3D, 2D, characters, environments, animation, you name it.

How to apply

Please send your application to jobs@beatentrack.games including a link to your portfolio / references, a letter explaining why you want to join the team and why you’re a good fit, and a short CV.
